A rare and sought-after annual release from Laphroaig Distillery. This 25-year-old single malt is one of exceptional character, a finely tuned balance of the classic Laphroaig characteristics with a twist. The spirits are aged in ex-bourbon casks, and carefully matured for 25 years, balancing the Islay peat with the flavour expression of an ex-bourbon cask. Free from chill filtration, this single malt is bottled at a cask strength 49,8 % abv.
Sweet honey, thyme, and pear drop aromas arrive on the nose. Herbaceous, smoky, honey notes arrive on the palate, alongside black pepper, spices, clementine zest and medicinal notes. The finish is dry, with a vein of sea salt and a zing of spring flowers.
